Compensation

$75,000 - $90,000/year + discretionary performance bonus + comprehensive benefits. RRSP matching of 3%. Three weeks vacation.

Pertinent Information: Direct hire opportunity. Hours include 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, with overtime only as when required (i.e. month/year end and inventory).

Job Description

Reporting to an off-site Finance Director, the Accountant will be responsible for the following job duties:

  • Performing all required accounting duties in a very busy, multi-location manufacturing facility
  • Preparing all documentation required for auditors and internal reviews
  • Financial analysis required for controlling all costs as it relates to projects
  • Assisting with completion and reporting of month end and year end
  • Assisting with inventory
  • Processing and verifying weekly payroll for both salary and hourly staff utilizing the Ceridian accounting / payroll software (about 30-40 employees)
  • Analyzing financial information and producing financial reports as needed
  • Reconciling general ledger account balances
  • Inputting and analyzing expense accounts
  • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts, including preparing daily cash position report
  • Uploading of EFT vendor payments utilizing online banking platforms
  • Creation of financial transactions – including posting information to accounting journals or software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts and supplier invoices
  • Reconciling records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers
  • Documentation of financial transactions by entering account information
  • Recommending financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance
  • Designation – CPA, preferred
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience as an acting Accountant in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in working within ERP systems is a must
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite with advanced MS Excel skills (i.e creating tables, reports, manipulating data)
  • Ability and willing to travel internationally 1-2 times per year
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and multi-tasking skills required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all company and employee information at all times
