Automation Technician

Location: Windsor, ON.

Wage: $22.00 – $28.00/hr depending on experience.

Job Description

The Automation Technologist provides specifications and/or designs for new or modified equipment and general support for all plant equipment. REsponsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Ensure all electrical drawings are kept up to date
  • Provide guidance on spare parts inventory
  • Obtain solid knowledge of all automated systems in use
  • Work closely with Corporate team members on various projects
  • Assist IT department as needed
  • Assist maintenance department in supporting production
  • Create and follow timelines for projects
  • Optimize equipment efficiencies as needed
  • Accomplish all task efficiently
  • Lead various process improvement project
  • Participate in information sessions such as safety talks and other forms of staff meetings.
  • Perform work in an electrical panel only if the risk category is zero (0)
  • Perform any other duties that may be specifically or generally assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a diploma in Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum three (3) yeras Automation Technologist experience within a Tier 1 manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Understanding of electrical / electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to refer to quality specification forms to verify that products comply with required standards.
  • Ability to evaluate condition of new and damaged mechanical equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Ability to provide technical support and services to other team members
