Industrial Millwright Apprentice

Pertinent Information: Direct hire career opportunity, in a progressive and growing production manufacturing family. Non-union. Very involved and robust training program.  Will sign successful candidate into Industrial Millwright apprenticeship program after 90 day successful probationary period.

Shifts: Availability for days for first 3-6 months, and then may have to take some afternoon shifts or later swing days/afternoons. Week-ends / overtime when/as necessary and there is PM or any special projects going on.

Compensation: $26-30.00/hour + double match pension plan + solid benefits package + generous vacation and holiday package + much more

Job Description:

  • Perform preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs to the factory building and equipment (multiple production machines) including disassembling and reassembling all machines, ensuring they are running properly
  • Administer all preventative maintenance programs and records
  • Administer scheduled preventative programs for production equipment and building maintenance and repairs
  • Keep all areas clean and organized.
  • Properly read and understand blueprints including symbols, specifications and dimensional limitations. Properly use and read inspection gauges and tools including micrometers, calipers and check gauges.
  • Assist with set-ups on special equipment as needed
  • Observation of all company safety rules and regulations, reporting any unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Complying with all company operating rules, regulations, policies and procedures.


  • Completion (or near completion) of the Industrial Millwright / Mechanic program.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics and standard machine shop equipment: mills, lathes, drill presses, saws, surface grinders a definite asset
  • Availability to work any shift
