Warehouse Manager

Pertinent Information: Full-time, direct hire with long-standing and highly reputable company.

Wage: $130,000 – $150,000 + 15% bonus. Comprehensive benefits package + pension/RRSP contributions.

Location: Essex.

Job Description

Reporting the to Plant Manager, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for all activities related to shipping, warehousing, receiving and inventory management.

Responsibilities to include the following:

  • Manage operations to achieve world class shipping and warehouse efficiency
  • Develop, recommend, and implement continuous improvement practices to reduce waste and inefficiencies
  • Develop, recommend, and implement policies and procedures for shipping operations
  • Promote and enforce health and safety work practices as required by the company and occupational safety and health standards
  • Provide expertise and training to all shipping areas
  • Effectively communicate short- and long-term objectives to the Warehouse team
  • Collaborate with production, logistics, quality, sales, production planning and HR to improve processes practices to reduce waste and inefficiencies
  • Build and maintain a positive team-oriented environment amongst shipping personnel
  • Oversee, supervise, train, discipline shipping operations personnel
  • Review daily shipping reports for compliance and to resolve issues to ensure minimal costs and prevent shipping delays
  • Ensure that inventory accuracy is maintained
  • Develop shipping, vacation, and training schedules for shipping personnel and receivers.
  • Evaluate employee performance objectively based upon the job requirements and behavioural indicators of performance
  • Immediately report suspected security incidents and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Delegate work to appropriate personnel and provide accurate, complete, and timely instructions for the completion of such work
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years in warehousing and shipping at a Supervisor or Management level within a fast-paced manufacturing facility
  • 3PL experience including JIT and rail loading is desired.
  • Thorough knowledge of SAP and MS-Office Suite including Telia dashboard and crane HMI.
  • Demonstrate planning ahead for on-time loading within 2 hours, including preloads.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Able to adapt quickly and effectively to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Demonstrated fundamental working knowledge of warehousing and shipping, plant, industrial and manufacturing concepts.
  • Proven decision making, problem resolution, communication and organizational time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must hold valid passport as travel to the United States may be required from time to time
