Assistant Controller

Pertinent Information: Full-time, direct hire position.

Wage: $75,000 – $85,000/year + Comprehensive Benefits Package.

Location: Kingsville, ON.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will oversee accounting operations which will include financial accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll.

Duties to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Manage accounts payable, including posting vendor invoices and preparing supplier cheques for signing
  • Maintaining accounts receivable, including following up on past due invoices and posting of related GL entries
  • Ensuring the accuracy and productivity of day to day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, bank reconciliations, perpetual inventory
  • Responds to inquiries from the CEO, CFO and Controller regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like
  • Maintain files and records
  • Order processing
  • End of day (daily invoicing)
  • Coordinate finances, assit with budget preparation
  • Complete confidential financial tasks for the management team
  • Maintain and balance inventory transactions in a proper timely manner
  • Organize financial data into useable information and maintain updated records
  • Ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards
  • Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Prepare budget reports and forecasts
  • Participate in audits (insurance, tax, general, etc)
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting
  • Minimum five (5) years full cycle accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, planning, internal controls and analysis
  • Experience using QuickBooks
  • Proficient with Excel and the entire MS Suite
  • Ability to work well under pressure and against tight deadlines
  • Ability to take lead in projects and attain results with minimal guidance
