Production Coordinator

Pertinent Information: Exciting opportunity to start with a new facility opening in the new year. This role will directly support the Operations Manager in a variety of planning and materials functions. Full details to be provided at time of interview.

Wage: $26-30/hr. Comprehensive benefits package.

Location: Windsor/Oldcastle, ON.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Production Planner / Quality Administrator will provide operational support in a variety of capacities.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

Production Planning & Control Responsibilities

  • Evaluating raw materials and equipment to ensure everything in place for production
  • Reporting on the production status and any production issues to upper management and to global planning manager
  • Handling production disruptions and productivity problems
  • Issuing and printing work orders from the system
  • Distributing production schedules and work orders
  • Contacting suppliers to verify shipment details
  • Preparing reports on production performance, including efficiency, consumption of raw materials or quality control

Quality Control Responsibilities

  • Ensuring raw materials and finished products meet specifications
  • Performing visual and functional quality checks on products, according to inspection specifications
  • Maintaining detailed records of inspections, to ensure traceability and quality
  • Communicating identified defects promptly to production and technical team and collaborate on corrective actions for timely resolution
  • Handling supplier and customer complaints in collaboration with the sales department, operations manger and the company’s global quality manager

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree – must have grade 12
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of administrative experience within a manufacturing setting
  • Strong ERP proficiency – experience with creating/issuing work orders, capacity and material planning, scheduling updates, etc
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office – particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with shipping/logistics processes is an asset.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
