Job Description
Responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the overall accounting operations of the organization. This role plays a key part in ensuring the financial health and compliance of the company.
Financial & Accounting Duties
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and issue invoices and payment records
- Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
- Support budgeting and cash flow tracking
- Prepare HST/GST filings and assist with payroll remittances where applicable
- Coordinate with external accountants during audits and year-end preparation
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial files
- Respond to vendor and internal accounting inquiries
- Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting procedures
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Qualifications
- Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum three (3) years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience handling multiple accounts, entities, or cost centers is considered an asset
