Warehouse/ Shipping Supervisor

Pertinent Information: Full-time career opportunity – Direct Hire. Steady days (8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m) Monday through Friday. *Will consider a junior candidate with some production manufacturing leadership experience.

Job Description:

The Warehouse / Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily warehouse, shipping, and logistics operations to ensure the accurate, safe, and on-time movement of materials and finished goods. This role oversees warehouse staff, inventory flow, shipping documentation, carrier coordination, and continuous process improvements while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the warehouse, shipping, receiving, and inventory functions.
  • Lead, coach, schedule, and support warehouse personnel to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and customer service objectives.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier scheduling, customs documentation, and shipping paperwork.
  • Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time, including pick slip management, shipment confirmation, and ASN processing.
  • Monitor inventory movement, stock allocation, cycle counts, and warehouse organization to maximize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage warehouse equipment, storage capacity, and safe operating practices.
  • Coordinate inter-company transfers and communicate shipment delays to internal stakeholders.
  • Oversee returned goods processing and inventory reconciliation.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within warehouse and shipping operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, health and safety regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Prepare reports and maintain accurate shipping, inventory, and logistics records.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in warehouse, shipping, logistics, or distribution operations.
  • Must have previous Forklift/Lift truck experience and certification (will provide on-site training / certification).
  • Strong knowledge of shipping, inventory control, warehouse management, and logistics processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping practices, including customs documentation, is considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
