Production Supervisor

Pertinent Information: Full-time career opportunity – Direct Hire. Days / Afternoons swing shift (6:00 a.m – 3:30 p.m / 3:30 p.m – 1:00 a.m) Monday through Friday. *Will consider a junior candidate with some production manufacturing leadership experience.

Compensation: CA$70,000.00 – CA$75,000.00 per year

Job Description:

The Production Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for leading a production team to safely achieve daily production targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. This role develops employees, manages department performance, resolves production issues, and drives continuous improvement. Duties to include:

  • Lead, coach, train, and develop production employees to build a high-performing, cross-trained team.
  • Manage daily production schedules to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Assign personnel and equipment to maximize efficiency and achieve production targets.
  • Ensure employees have the tools, materials, training, and support required for success.
  • Monitor production performance, investigate variances, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company standards.
  • Exercise authority to stop production or shipments when quality or safety standards are compromised.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to resolve issues and improve performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions, procedures, and employee training documentation.
  • Prepare department budgets, manpower plans, and capacity plans.
  • Lead capital equipment planning and implementation projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; Equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will be considered.
  • Previous supervisory or manufacturing leadership experience in a production environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, employee development, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis, 5S, MRP/JIT systems, and performance metrics.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience working within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience in ISO or other quality-certified manufacturing environments is preferred.
