Accounting Clerk

Wage: $23.00 – $25.00/hr.

Location: Windsor, ON.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will provide day-to-day accounting support within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role focuses on accurate financial recordkeeping, accounts payable and receivable support, and compliance with healthcare-related financial processes.

Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:

  • Provide detailed, accurate and timely accounting, bookkeeping and clerical support to the finance department.
  • Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers, reporting anomalies in a timely manner.
  • Sort and enter invoices, verify data and maintain vendor files.
  • Prepare bank deposits and general ledger postings.
  • Track and maintain detailed records for expenses and petty cash transactions.
  • Actively participate in financial audits as requested.
  • Remittances and reporting to government and other agencies are done accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum two (2) years proven professional experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role required.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience with Microsoft Office at the intermediate level with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Working experience with Sage 300 and other accounting/bookkeeping software.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic general ledger functions
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing processes, insurance payments, etc, is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial and patient-related information
