Job Description
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk will provide day-to-day accounting support within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role focuses on accurate financial recordkeeping, accounts payable and receivable support, and compliance with healthcare-related financial processes.
Responsibilities to include the following, but not limited to:
- Provide detailed, accurate and timely accounting, bookkeeping and clerical support to the finance department.
- Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers, reporting anomalies in a timely manner.
- Sort and enter invoices, verify data and maintain vendor files.
- Prepare bank deposits and general ledger postings.
- Track and maintain detailed records for expenses and petty cash transactions.
- Actively participate in financial audits as requested.
- Remittances and reporting to government and other agencies are done accurately and on schedule.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting is required.
- Minimum two (2) years proven professional experience in an accounting/bookkeeping role required.
- Two (2) years of professional experience with Microsoft Office at the intermediate level with advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Working experience with Sage 300 and other accounting/bookkeeping software.
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic general ledger functions
- Familiarity with healthcare billing processes, insurance payments, etc, is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial and patient-related information
