Wage: $105,000 – $115,000/year + comprehensive benefits package.

Job Description:
The Human Resources Manager position calls for a professional individual with a strong sense of judgement, integrity and logic. This role requires a leader who will be a key resource for expertise and guidance for plant management on human resources programs to support strategic plant objectives. This position is responsible for the implementation and administration of all HR policies and practices within the plant, managing and conducting employee training and skills development, managing employee and labour relations initiatives, participating in the collective bargaining process, overseeing performance management and providing guidance regarding employment legislation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Act as a key resource for expertise and guidance for plant management and employees on employee relations, union /management relations and human resources deliverables to support strategic business objectives. Lead the strategic execution of labour relations, including grievance resolution, union engagement, and bargaining.
- Proactively identifies opportunities, risks and trends to provide strategic recommendation of people initiatives aligned to business plans
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure effective strategies are applied towards recruitment needs and labour utilization.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in organizational capabilities; create and facilitate programs to improve gaps.
- Develop and lead programs to enhance employee morale, satisfaction & retention.
- Drive talent and leadership development strategies that build facility bench strength and future workforce capacity
- Ensures best practices in human resource management are implemented by collaborating with peers and colleagues.
- Act as cultural ambassador for company culture, Blueprint and Guiding Principles
- Provide leadership to the HR Team with a clear focus on the career development of team members;
- Act as a change agent within the facility, focused on continuous improvement of the People and Culture within the facility
- Lead the collection of key data linked to critical areas of the business; analyze and communicate the data and make appropriate recommendations to address gaps.
Qualifications
- Degree in Labour Relations or Human Resources Management
- CHRL designation is highly preferred
- Minimum ten (10) years Human Resources experience at a managerial level, leading a team of HR professionals
- Strong background with labour relations with proven work experience in a unionized manufacturing/processing environment
- Thorough knowledge of Labour Relations, Human Rights and Employment Standards and their application
- Strong influencing, negotiation and conciliation skills in addition to well-developed partnership and communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office applications
