Plant Manager

Pertinent Details:  This is a Direct Hire leadership opportunity with a large non-automotive manufacturing company that serves a diverse customer base across multiple sectors. The company offers a stable employment environment with continuous growth, progressive career development, and long-term potential.  The plant employ’s approximately 250+ non-unionized employees.  

Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000  *Full compensation details will be discussed during the interview process.

Job Description:

The Plant Manager is responsible for leadership and strategic direction of all plant production operations which includes administrative staff, preventative maintenance, contract services administration, packaging, shipping & receiving, etc. The successful applicant reports to the Company President and is expected to be a key member of the Senior Management team. This team is charged with providing guidance to the entire organization in achieving company goals around revenue growth, productivity, quality, and customer expectations. Additionally, they are responsible for directing the transition to a more team based corporate culture.

Responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling all production operations to ensure customer/ contract obligations are achieved.
  • Develop/ maintain a manufacturing plan to maximize productivity & efficiency for all products, equipment & personnel. Monitor & report daily on production plan to actual results, measurement of quality, productivity, safety, manning efficiency, available capacity, etc. Analyze trends in all areas and identify additional opportunities.
  • Provide plant operational input into engineering on future project contracts to ensure all manufacturing requirements are addressed.
  • Maintain & report on financial control of all plant expenses to ensure total operations are within allocated cost budgets & meet or exceed annual task efficiency targets. Participate in capital expenditure planning as needed.
  • Ownership of personnel morale, product quality, facility & equipment cleanliness, and maintenance.
  • Oversee inventory control and develop continuous improvement strategies to reduce cost, floor space, etc. 
  • Drive process confirmation and continuous improvement planning of all manufacturing processes, quality control processes, equipment layout, manpower allocation, etc. to support company growth plans.
  • Lead personnel through the transition from a “Job Shop” mentality to more corporate with increased focus on planning, standardize work development and a strong emphasis on process adherence.
  • Lead & collaborate with all operational support department managers/personnel to optimize all business processes to achieve the highly efficient operations necessary to meet the growth goals of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree or college diploma in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related skilled trades certificate with tenure, along with a strong business administration acumen desired
  • Eight (8) to Ten (10) years of plant management experience in a technical environment with proven leadership skills in both operations and business processes
  • Ability to operate in a custom /project-based manufacturing environment where planning is dynamic requiring ongoing solutions with a positive attitude. Ability to effectively manage large number of personnel, tasks, & problems simultaneously with a professional attitude
  • Strong collaborative leadership style & excellent communication skills
  • Results oriented with proven project management skills

  • Comfortable with operating/managing in a team-based environment
  • Strong working knowledge of computer systems & software used to effectively communicate and manage business
