Wage: $19.00/hr to start. Increasing to $20/hr after 6 months. Benefits package available.
Job Description
The Packager/General Labourer is responsible for inspecting, sorting, and packaging plastic components produced by automated injection molding machines. This role ensures all finished products meet quality standards and are properly prepared for shipment while maintaining a clean and organized work area in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Inspect molded plastic parts for defects such as warping, discoloration, flashing, or short shots
- Trim excess material (e.g., flash or runners) using hand tools as required
- Package finished products according to customer specifications and company standards
- Label boxes accurately
- Maintain production pace in line with machine cycle times and production targets
- Perform basic quality checks and report any defects or irregularities to the supervisor or quality team
- Assist with line changes, material handling, or other general labour duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Previous manufacturing or packaging experience is an asset, preferably in plastic injection molding
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
