Plant Manager

Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000/year + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits Package.

Location: Essex, ON.

Job Description:

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Creates solid operating plans for current month, and actively identifies and prepares for plans/actions/challenges for upcoming month.
  • Builds a performance-based culture around accountability, metrics, safety, and operational excellence for the facilities.
  • Provides organizational direction/communication consistent with corporate goals, objectives, and vision to all departments within the Plant.
  • Reviews daily operating reports to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues and ensure minimal expenditures and prevent operational delays.
  • Builds teams and collaborates with cross-functional groups (HR, Safety, Finance, Sales etc.) to resolve day-to-day issues, while providing strategic support to accomplish continuous improvement.
  • Formulates policies, programs, and objectives affecting the schedule, quality, and cost of company production.
  • Leads implementation of new manufacturing initiatives, including strategic resource allocation and applying good manufacturing principles, organization structure, leadership, sourcing and integration, production systems and techniques for improved efficiencies and adherence to best practice.
  • Hires, coaches, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff. Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval. Provides strong leadership to the employees at the plant to ensure high morale, team work and good employee relations, at all levels, including on the shop floor.
  • Delegates work to appropriate personnel and provides accurate and detailed instructions for timely work completion in accordance with established safetyregulations, legal regulations, quality standards and in compliance with Company procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Six (6) to ten (10) years’ leadership experience in a high volume, fast paced manufacturing facility
  • Proven track record for developing a strong operating team across all levels
  • Solid labour relations experience preferred
  • Goal oriented, aggressive self-started with an entrepreneurial personality who can make strategic decisions with a sense of urgency and velocity
  • Ability to identify key issues in a situation and think creatively and strategically when faced with internal and external challenges
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards
